The Moth Hole Story We’ve had a lot of people ask so here is the Moth Hole story. The Moth Hole is an established consignment store that carries high quality, brand name women’s clothing and accessories. We are located in a neighborhood shopping center in Fair Oaks, California. Our goal is to provide all of our customers with a “One of a Kind Shopping Experience.” Many of you have heard of the store and you have either shopped or consigned at the Moth Hole at some point in its 20+ years of operation. Yes, that is right, the Moth Hole has been in operation for over 20 years. In that time, it has changed locations, changed the type of merchandise that it sells and changed owners for the first time since it opened for business. In 1995, the store moved from Orangevale to its present location in the Almond Orchard Shopping Center. At the same time, furniture was discontinued and the store focused exclusively on women’s clothing. In July 2000, Rose and Jim Erickson (mainly Rose) purchased the business. Many things have remained the same but at the same time, we have made some very positive changes in what we offer our consignors and shoppers (many times the same person). Women’s clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories remain the focus of the Moth Hole today. So what can you expect if you visit the Moth Hole? You will find a store where you can explore for hours trying to find that perfect item. We treat our customers as our number one priority and as a result, we have become legendary for our great customer service. When you enter the store, you will see a framed statement that tells it all. It says: Our goals are to provide you:
The store is primarily consignment but we have also worked hard to provide you with some great buys on brand new merchandise. The selection of merchandise that we receive from a long list of loyal consignors is gently used and selected with care. When you add some brand new items, you can only imagine the possibilities. Our selection varies from casual to career to designer apparel. The merchandise is displayed by color and by size with the sizes ranging from petite through plus. If that isn’t enough, the selection changes daily. As mentioned earlier, satisfying customers is our number one priority. Nothing pleases us more than when a customer tells us that “This is my favorite store” or “You have the best selection in town” or “ Wow, I couldn’t believe last month’s consignment check” or best of all, “ I love this store”.
